Scripture, Reflection and Prayer 11/7/2008

And there was a certain poor man named Lazarus, who lay at the rich man's gate,...longing to be filled with crumbs from his table.
- Lk 16:19

Reflection: We ask you to go out to meet poor Lazarus, in his hunger and misery. Make yourself his neighbor, so that he can recognize in your eyes the eyes of Christ welcoming him, and in your hands the hands of the Lord sharing His gifts.
- Pope Paul VI

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You repeatedly taught Your disciples that the poor are our brothers and sisters. Help me to find ways to reach out to them in my own life.
